Twitter has recorded a new high for the ICC U19 World Cup finals 2018 as over 500,000 Tweets celebrated India’s win.
History was made at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui as the #BoysInBlue from India clinched the ICC Under 19 World title defeating Australia by eight wickets in the mega final on Saturday.
This is India’s fourth U-19 World Cup title after Mohammad Kaif’s (@MohammadKaif) team won it in 2000, Virat Kohli’s (@imVkohli) team won it in 2008 and Unmkut Chand (@UnmuktChand9) led-India won in 2012.
Led by skipper Prithvi Shaw the Indian colts put forth a stellar show in the all-important finals. Fans, famous personalities, sports stars celebrated this huge win on Twitter which made #ICCU19WC break records on the platform. The conversation peaked between 4-5 pm on 3 February garnering over 126,000 Tweets.
