Individual World Cup: India’s 10-men Greco Roman team leaves for Serbia

Individual World Cup: India’s 10-wrestlers Greco Roman team left for Serbia on December 10 (Wednesday) to participate in the Individual World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to be held from December 12 to 18 in Belgrade. United World Wrestling (UWW) will kick off the  Greco Roman tournament will kick off the event with Greco Roman competitions.
India has sent the same squad as that of Asian Championship for the world cup. At the Asian meet, India had registered its best-ever performance with five medals. To add to the glorious run, Sunil Kumar etched his name in history by ending the 27-year drought of winning gold at the Asian Championship.
The Individual World Cup will be the first tournament organised by UWW since the lockdown in March.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Wrestling Team will leave on December 12. As for the star-studded Men’s team, they are scheduled to depart on December 14.
