IPL 2018: Injured Ranveer Singh to miss ₹5 cr IPL performance? - InsideSport

Bollywood sensation Ranveer Singh is tipped to be the show stopper at the Indian Premier League opening ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 7. He has reportedly been engaged for ₹ 5 crores to perform at the 45-minute curtain raiser ahead of the IPL 2018 inaugural tie between hosts Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

The much-awaited performance, however, might not take place as scheduled. A shoulder injury has cast serious doubts over Ranveer Singh’s performance at the Wankhede Stadium on next Saturday, April 7.

Ranveer’s spokesperson has shared the news of cine star’s shoulder injury in a media release. “Ranveer Singh has injured his shoulder during a football match and has been advised not to overstrain it for at least one month. Ranveer is, however, not taking any breaks and will continue shooting for Gully Boy as per schedule,” the release stated.

It will only become clear over the next few days whether Ranveer will be able to appear in the IPL show or not. “Ranveer is in consultation with the doctors who will advise him, in a day or two, on whether he would able to perform at this year’s IPL opening ceremony in which he is doing the finale act,” it added.

Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra and Jacqueline Fernandez are among the top stars listed to perform at the IPL opening ceremony.

Ranveer Singh will also feature in a movie of India’s triumph at the 1983 World Cup, in which he plays the role of Kapil Dev.
