IPL 2020, CSK vs DC: Dhoni cleans Shaw’s eye, clears his stumps next

MS Dhoni once again proved why cricket is called a “gentleman’s game” as he was seen clearing the dirt from Prithvi Shaw’s eye during Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Indian Premier League 2020 on Friday.

The official twitter account of the Indian Premier League tweeted the picture of the incident with the caption, “Got something bothering you in the eye, Prithvi? MS Dhoni – Don’t worry, I have you covered.”

Interestingly, Dhoni not only cleared dirt from Prithvi’s eyes but also sent the DC opener back to pavilion by stumping him.

Prithvi, who was looking in tremendous form fell prey to Dhoni’s fast reflexes. In the 13th over, which was being bowled by spinner Piyush Chawla, Shaw walked down the wicket to play the flatter delivery and got outfoxed.

The ball hit Shaw’s pads after taking an inside edge and it rolled back off the pad towards Dhoni who had to lunge forward to get the ball and stretch to break the bails.

Shaw departed after smashing 64 off 43 balls which included 9 fours and 1 six.

Earlier, CSK opted to bowl first after winning the toss. They have entered the game on the back of the loss against Rajasthan Royals. DC, on the other hand, have played only one IPL 2020 game till now and won it against Kings XI Punjab.
