IPL 2020, CSK vs DC: Dhoni fails to spot Prithvi Shaw’s inside edge on 0, pays heavy price

Delhi Capitals batsman Prithvi Shaw was in superb form as he went on to score 64 runs in 43 balls against Chennai Super Kings in the match no.7 of Indian Premier League 2020 on Friday.

Shaw had got a feather on his bat on the second delivery of the first over bowled by Deepak Chahar, however, no one from CSK, not even their skipper MS Dhoni who was standing behind the wickets, failed to spot an inside edge from the opener.

Later, the snickometer revealed that it apparently was an edge but no member from the CSK bunch was able to identify it. It was later revealed that the ball had taken a thin edge before going to the wicketkeeper’s gloves.

With a granted lifeline, Shaw then went on to rain hell on CSK bowlers and brought up a 50-run partnership with Shikhar Dhawan for the first wicket off 47 balls, which ultimately paved way for DC to eventually end with 3-175 in 20 overs.

In the process, Shaw also reached 1000 T20 runs when he scored 23. This was his fifth IPL half-century, which was brought up off 35 balls.

Shaw was eventually dismissed by Piyush Chawla after he was outfoxed by a flattish trajectory, only to be stumped by MS Dhoni.

Later, CSK flopped in the batting department and lost the game by 44 runs as they were restricted to 131-7 by DC, who went to the top of the points table with two wins from two games.
