IPL 2020 CSK vs KKR: Sunil Narine replaced by Rahul Tripathi as KKR opener

Kolkata Knight Riders have removed Sunil Narine as the team’s opener as, during their match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday, Rahul Tripathi walked out to open with Shubman Gill instead of Narine.

The decision came after the Windies all-rounder’s dismal performances so far in IPL 2020. Narine, who was once the talisman of KKR, has had a disappointing season so far as he has failed to contain runs or take wickets and his batting has been the biggest letdown, scoring 27 runs from four matches at a dismal strike-rate of 87.09.

The 32-year-old has managed scores of 3, 15, 0, 9 and 4 thus far.

Meanwhile, Tripathi has been in good form this season as he has so far scored 59 runs in two games at a whopping strike rate of 196.66.

Talking about the game then, Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata won the toss and opted to bat first against MS Dhoni-led Chennai in the match no. 21 of IPL 13.

KKR are currently fourth in the points table with four points in as many games, while CSK are at fifth position with four points in their kitty.
