Dream 11 IPL 2020 DC vs RR Higlights : DC climbs to top after sealing thriller; beats RR by 13 runs

Delhi Capitals (DC) pulled off a sensational come from behind victory against Rajasthan Royals, courtesy some impeccable death bowling to secure a thrilling 13 runs win. DC were behind throughout the contest after having to defend a trivial total of 161.

However, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Tushar Deshpande bowled incredibly under pressure as Delhi defended 38 runs in the last five overs. It was their bowlers who delivered a victory for the Capitals as they registered their sixth win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and propelled themselves to the top of the IPL 2020 table.

11.10pm
DC wins by 13 runs

Excellent last over from Tushar, and an overall death bowling exhibition from Delhi Capitals. Rabada and Nortje didn’t give an inch, and Tushar didn’t crumble under pressure. He stuck to his lengths, and was too good for Gopal and Tewatia. RR-148/4 after 20 overs

Wicket on the last ball of the match!

Tushar gets Gopal on the last ball after conceding a boundary the previous ball. Delhi Capitals have won by 13 runs.

11.01pm
Archer falls for 1

DC are finding late inroads and Jofra Archer is the latest the depart. Archer is gone! Rabada troubled him all through with his change in pace until Archer squeezes one straight to Rahane at cover point.  Will DC be able to secure the match or will Tewatia’s heroics triumph again?

10.57pm

A single to finish. Just 4 runs off the 18th over and the important wicket of Robin Uthappa in it. Anrich Nortje you beauty. The equation has come down to 25 off 12 balls now.RR-137/6 after 18 overs.

10.53pm
Uthappa throttled by speed!

A yorker at 149.6. You can’t get deadlier than that. Robin Uthappa had no chance of keeping that one out after he had danced down the track. The Capitals are well and truly in it.

10.49pm

Good over from Rabada that. Beats Uthappa on the pull thrice with his change in pace before Tewatia gets an important boundary. The pitch is slowing. RR-133/5 after 17 overs; need more 29 from 18 balls

10.44pm

Ashwin returns. Excellent bowling from him at the death. Starts with a single to Uthappa and bowls four straight dots to Tewatia who nudges the last ball for a single. Just two from this over. Excellent stuff from Ashwin. RR-125/5 after 16 overs; need more 37 from 24 balls

10.40pm

8 runs from Tushar Deshpande’s over and there should’ve been a wicket but for that drop catch. So the Royals now need 39 runs off 30 balls, one would think they should get these runs. RR-123/5 after 15 overs

10.37pm
Tewatia dropped!

Tushar Deshpande back to bowl the 15th, with wickets in hand the big concern for Rajasthan. Deshpande almost picks up Tewatia’s wicket too, but Nortje spills the catch at fine leg.

10.33pm
Strategic Timeout taken

Great over from Axar. He follows up the wicket of Samson with a run-out off his own bowling of Riyan Parag, who won RR their last game. Terrible calling from Uthappa. He now has to deliver along with Tewatia. RR-115/5 after 14 overs; need more 47 from 36 balls

10.31pm
RR lose half their side

Terrible calling there from Uthappa. He hit that straight to Axar, the bowler, and called for a tight single. Axar recovers and hits the stumps to run Parag out at the non-striker’s end.

10.28pm
100 up for RR

A six and a four from Uthappa’s bat in that Anrich Nrotje over, 11 runs from it. Excellent strokemaking from Uthappa. RR-110/4 after 13 overs; need more 52 from 42 balls

10.18pm

Tushar Deshpande bowls the 11th over. And picks up his first IPL wicket. And it’s the wicket of Ben Stokes. Who is caught in the deep. He goes for 41. Uthappa joins Samson. A Review for obstructing the field as Uthappa comes in line with a throw that saves himself from being run out. RR-95/3 after 11 overs; need more 67 from 54 balls

10.16pm
Obstructing the field appeal against Robin Uthappa

Did Robin Uthappa change his course while running after seeing the throw, that is what will be checked by the third umpire. From the replays, it looks like he had turned his back before Shikhar Dhawan threw the ball And yes, the third umpire rules it not out. It was actually clever from Uthappa. He knew that the throw would be towards him, so changed his line and got his timing right.

10.14pm
Stokes is gone!

Debutant Tushar strikes with a slower delivery as the left-hander holes out in the deep. What a moment for the youngster.

10.10pm
We reach the halfway mark!

A calm end to the powerplay after a high-octane start, 7 runs from Kagiso Rabada’s 2nd over. The Rajasthan Royals have reached 50/2 after 6 overs.

9.49pm

Nortje continues. He has been extremely quick through the air tonight, taking the slow pitch out of the equation. Sanju Samson has joined Stokes. Just three singes there as Iyer, trying to stop a Stokes straight drive, seems to have injured his shoulder. The physio is out. RR-43/2 after 5 overs; need more 119 from 90 balls

9.48pm
Iyer hurts his shoulder; leaves pitch

DC captain Shreyas Iyer has walked off the field grabbing his left shoulder. He dived to save the ball in the last ball of the fifth over and in the process jarred his shoulder with the ground. He looked to be in some pain while walking off. And looks it will be Shikhar Dhawan who will take over the captaincy for the time being.

9.43pm
Ashwin introduced and he gets a breakthrough

Steve Smith is out for 1. Ashwin bowls the 4th over and he gets the opposing skipper out off the last ball of the over. Two big blows in quick succession for RR. Sanju Samson joins Stokes. RR-40/1 after 4 overs

9.37pm

It was an effortless glance from Jos Buttler and it travelled all the way for a six. RR needs Buttler to fire today.

9.36pm

Eventful first over from Tushar Deshpande, who is on his IPL debut. Bowls a decent pace but he can’t give ay width to these guys. He gives it twice, and Stokes duly hits them for fours. RR-21/0 after 2 overs

9.31pm

Ben Stokes accompanies Jos Buttler to the crease as Kagiso Rabada stands at the top of his mark. Turns out to be quite an eventful over this with two fours – one from each batsman – and a missed run out chance. RR-10/0 after 1 over

9.26pm
We are underway with RR’s chase

Ben Stokes once again comes out at the top to open for RR. He will be partnering with Jos Butler on the other end. Can the duo get RR to a strong start?
