Jammu and Kashmir’s batsman Abdul Samad on Tuesday became the second-youngest player to debut in Indian Premier League 2020 after he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playing XI for the match against Delhi Capitals.
Interestingly, Samad, who age is 18 years and 335 days, is the second-youngest player to debut in IPL 2020 after Rajasthan Royals’ Yashaswi Jaiswal, who made his IPL debut at the age of 18 years and 273 days.
Other young debutants in the IPL 2020 are Ravi Bishnoi (KXIP, 20 years), Kamlesh Nagarkoti (KKR, 20 years), and Devdutt Padikkal (RCB, 20 years).
Meanwhile, Samed, who is a hard-hitting batsman, came out to bat at no.5 against DC and hit unbeaten 12 runs off 7 balls including a six and a four.
The youngster was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2020 auctions and he is the fourth cricketer from J&K to play in the Indian Premier League and the only player from the erstwhile state in this edition of the tournament.
