The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has declared that the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) in UAE will be delivered without any glitches. The partner board for the BCCI this year on IPL 2020 has already started preparing for the IPL 2020. In an interview to Gulf News, ECB general secretary said that coordination with all government agencies locally have already started.
‘‘We have started coordinating with various government departments as well as the three sports councils (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah) to set the ball rolling,’’ remarked Mubashshir Usmani, General Secretary of the ECB.
Speaking to Gulf News in an exclusive chat, Usmani said they are in touch with the Health Ministry to implement the protocols that the UAE government may seek to exercise for the teams, BCCI officials, TV crew and media. ‘‘We will try to fast-track the exits of the teams on their arrival at the airport after the PCR tests. Each team will then be taken care of by their respective logistics teams,’’ Usmani said.

IPL 2020 in UAE : Will fans be allowed in the stadium for the IPL 2020 games ?
Asked about the contentious issue of entry of fans in the stadia, Usmani said: ‘‘We are speaking with the UAE government and also need to assess BCCI’s stance on the subject. Nothing has been officially decided on the issue.’’
ECB is now waiting for the BCCI’s team visit to UAE. As reported by InsideSport on Monday, BCCI’s delegation will be leaving for UAE on 22nd August. The Indian board will set up their office in UAE for the next 90 days and will also do the recee of the venues, hotels and meet key authorities of UAE government.

The IPL in UAE starts from 19th September which is now less than 6 away. The BCCI team traveling to UAE will have lot on their plate as far as finalizing the operational plans of IPL 2020 in concerned.

InsideSport has also learnt that 6-8 member BCCI staff team will operate from Dubai after setting up of the BCCI office locally. And in all likelihood BCCI’s Interim CEO Hemang Amin will lead the IPL 2020 team operations from Dubai.

The top franchise officials and the representative of the broadcaster Star India is also likely to travel on the same dates as the BCCI team to recee the facilities, venues in UAE.
Meanwhile as reported on Monday, most of the franchises with their entire squads are also scheduled to move to UAE before the 4th week of August
