IPL 2020 Purple Cap: Kagiso Rabada leads the chart, Bumrah in second place

Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada is leading the IPL 2020 highest-wicket taker list with 12 scalps to his name in five games and an economy rate of 7.50. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah jumped to second position after chipping four wickets on Tuesday against Rajasthan Royals. Overall, he has bagged 11 wickets in six games so far.

Bumrah’s MI teammate Trent Boult is third on the list with 10 wickets in his kitty and he is followed by another MI pacer James Pattinson who has clinched nine wickets so far in six games.

Notably, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is now in fifth position with eight wickets in his kitty.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings’ opener Shane Watson scored 50 off 40 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday to break into the top 5 in Orange Cap tally. The 39-year-old batsman is currently fifth in the IPL 2020 leading run-scorer list.

Watson has so far scored 185 runs in six games at a strike rate of 131.20.

Meanwhile, Watson’s opening partner in CSK Faf du Plessis missed the chance to go on top of the leading run-scorer chart as he was dismissed cheaply against KKR on Wednesday.

Du Plessis managed to score only 17 runs before walking back to the pavilion. Overall, the South African has accumulated 299 runs in six games so far and he is second on the Orange Cap list.

Notably, Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul is on the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard having scored 302 runs in five games at a whopping average of 75.50 and a strike rate of 141.78. The wicketkeeper-batsman has also smashed a century and two fifties in IPL 2020 so far.

Interestingly, Rahul’s teammate Mayank Agarwal is on third position in the tally and he is followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma who has so far scored 211 runs in six games at a strike rate of 145.51.

Talking about the points table, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in the match no.21 of Indian Premier League 2020 to move to ?? spot on the points table.

Defending a 168-runs target, KKR restricted CSK to 157/5 in 20 overs.

Meanwhile, Chennai remained at fifth position despite losing the match.

Notably, Mumbai Indians continue to lead the charts with eight points from six games and net run rate of +1.488.

Also, Delhi Capitals are second in the points tally. They have won four out of their five games till now and have 8 points in their kitty.
