IPL 2020 : RCB’s captain Virat Kohli becomes first Indian to crossed 70 M followers on Instagram

Team India and IPL franchise RCB’s Captain Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the current generation. Such is the following of Kohli’s batting exploits that the Indian batting great has now become the first Indian to have over 70 million followers on the video sharing, social media platform Instagram.

Kohli who will be bidding for his first IPL title win this year has now amassed 70.1 Mn followers.

 

Kohli is also India’s most valuable celebrity. He also remains the sports world’s only representative in the list of top 10 most followed Indian celebrities on Instagram. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is the second most followed Indian on Instagram and is followed by 55.4  million users.Shradha Kapoor comes third in the list with 51.4 M followers.

India skipper Virat Kohli emerged as the only cricketer in the world’s top-10 list of highest-earning athletes through sponsored Instagram posts during the lockdown, according to a report. The cricket superstar was sixth on the list, the figures for which were collected by ‘Attain’ during the period between March 12 and May 14, when the world literally shut down to stem the growth of the coronavirus outbreak.According to the list, Kohli earned a total of 379,294 pounds through his sponsored posts, raking up 126,431 pounds per post.
