It’s been just ten days since the commencement of Dream11 IPL 2020 but the tournament has already witnessed plenty of sixes and fours. In 9 games of IPL 2020 so far, 127 sixes have been hit with an average of almost 14 sixes every match.
62 sixes have been hit in two matches hosted by Sharjah in this season of IPL – 33 came in the match between Chennai and Rajasthan and 29 in Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals. In comparison, the seven matches combined hosted by Abu Dhabi (33) and Dubai (32) so far have seen a total of 65 maximums.

Sanju Samson (16 sixes)
Rajasthan Royals batsman Samson has been in top form this season an he has smashed 16 sixes in just two games that he has played till now in IPL 2020. The 25-year-old has scored 159 runs at a whopping strike rate of 214.86 and has two half-centuries to his name in the ongoing IPL 13.
Mayank Agarwal (11 sixes)
29-year-old Agarwal, who has played three games for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020 so far, has hit 11 sixes. He even registered his first IPL century on Sunday while playing against RR. Overall, Mayank has played three games till now in IPL 13, in which he has amassed 221 runs at a strike rate of 170. He already boasts of one century and one fifty in this season.
KL Rahul (9 sixes)
The Kings XI Punjab skipper has nine sixes to his name till now in IPL 2020 and seven out of those nine sixes came in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, when Rahul smashed 132 not out of a mere 69 balls – his second IPL hundred and the first century of this season. The 28-year old has been in prolific form this season as he has smashed 222 runs so far at a strike rate of 156.33.
Rahul Tewatia (7 sixes)
RR all-rounder Tewatia was in superb form on Sunday when he smashed seven sixes in a game against KXIP. Out of those seven sixes, five came in a single over which was bowled by Windies pacer Sheldon Cottrell. Overall, Rahul has scored 63 runs in the two games he has played so far this season.
Faf du Plessis (7 sixes)
Chennai Super Kings batsman du Plessis has smashed seven sixes so far in IPL 2020. He has played three games in which the South African has scored 173 runs including two fifties.
Interestingly, Chris Gayle holds the record of hitting most sixes in a single season of the Indian Premier League as the Windies batsman had smashed 59 sixes in 2012. So, the onus is now on Samson to break Gayle’s record given that the RR batsman has already hit 16 sixes in just two games.
