IPL 2021: 10 IPL records that are very hard to be broken

Most sixes

Chris Gayle holds the record to smash the most number of sixes in IPL. He has hit 357 biggies with AB De Villiers placed second with 245 sixes. With few years of cricket still left in him, the record is unlikely to be broken by anyone.

Most sixes in an innings

Gayle has a record of smashing most number of sixes in an innings. He had smashed as many as 17 sixes against PWI in IPL 2013.

Most runs in an IPL season

RCB skipper Virat Kohli holds the record for most runs in a season. He had scored 973 runs in the 2017 edition of the IPL.

Most hundreds in  a season

During the same year, Virat Kohli smashed as many as 4 centuries. The record is unlikely to be broken with many players unable to hit two of them in a single IPL season.

Highest individual score

Chris Gayle holds the record for most runs in an IPL inning. He has scored 175 runs off just 66 balls against now-defunct Pune Warriors India (PWI).

Fastest Hundred

Chris Gayle also holds the record of fastest 100 in the IPL. He had slammed a 30-ball century during his special knock of 175 runs.

Economy rate

SRH spinner Rashid Khan has an economy rate of 6.23 rpo after playing 69 matches. It is highly unlikely that anyone can control the economy rate to as low as near 6 runs per over in the IPL.

Best bowling figures

Alzzari Joseph of Mumbai Indians had taken 6/12 in an innings while playing against SRH in IPL 2019. He had bowled just 3.4 overs as the opposition team got all out.

Most dot balls

Harbhajan Singh of KKR has bowled the most dot balls in the IPL. He has bowled 1,268 dot balls and placed on top of the list. R Ashwin is placed second with 1,215 dots but it is highly unlikely that the record could be broken in the next couple of years.

Most fours

Shikhar Dhawan holds the record of most fours in the IPL. He has struck 634 fours in the cash-rich league. David Warner of SRH is placed second with 525 boundaries to his name. With Dhawan continuing his IPL career, no one is near him to go past his tally of fours.
