IPL 2021: The 13th Indian Premier League (IPL) season was tough for some players. The lack of game time or proper training due to lockdown affected their form. But a 50-over domestic tournament (Vijay Hazare Trophy) right before the IPL 2021 season, has helped these players regain their lost form. They are making the most of it to get their touchback. Here are four IPL 2020 flops who are now the superstars in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Prithvi Shaw (Delhi Capitals/Mumbai):
The youngster has not been at his best ever since returning from lockdown, which eventually cost him the Test spot in the Indian team. Even in IPL, after some good scores early in the tournament he faded away eventually being benched by DC. But Shaw seems to have found his sublime touch back. The Mumbai-born scored an impressive double century against Puducherry. He is the highest-scorer in Vijay Hazare with over 330 runs.
Robin Uthappa (Chennai Super Kings/Kerala):
Uthappa might not be as deadly as he once was during his prime days. But he can still instil fear in the opposition camp with his batting. The 35-year-old is the third-highest scorer with 288 runs in three matches. He will be one of the key players for CSK in IPL 2021.
Krunal Pandya (Mumbai Indians/Baroda):
The one-half of the famous Pandya brothers, Krunal did not have the best of IPL 2020 season, scalping just six wickets and scoring 109 in 16 games. However, the story is different this year. In Vijay Hazare, the 29-year-old is amongst the top five most-run getters. In three games he has scored 253 runs.
Dhawal Kulkarni (Mumbai Indians/Mumbai):
Although a part of Mumbai Indians since 2008, Kulkarni has lost his place in the starting XI due to inconsistent bowling performance. But he might find himself in the mix again owing to the Vijay Hazare performance. In two games, he has scalped eight wickets, best being 5/44.
