IPL 2021: After fantastic India debut, Ishan Kishan joins Mumbai Indians camp ahead of IPL 14: After a dream debut for India against England in the 2nd T20I in Ahmedabad, Ishan Kishan joined Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of IPL 2021, slate to begin on April 9. The defending IPL champions tweeted on Sunday, welcoming him back to the squad. He played for India in two matches but a groin injury forced him to be out of the rest of the matches. On his debut, Kishan scored 56 off just 32 balls. His crucial knock helped India beat England by 7 wickets.

“Straight from national duty… He’s come home! Welcome, @ishankishan51,” Mumbai Indians said in a tweet.

Apart from Kishan, Mumbai Indians players Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya shined in India colours. Their efforts besides skipper Virat Kohli and Bhuvenshwar Kumar helped India take the T20I series 3-2.

Now, back in Mumbai camp, the Jharkhand captain will be eager to emulate his IPL 2020 performance. He was Mumbai Indians’ top scorer last season with 516 runs from 14 matches with an impressive average of 57.33.
With ICC T20 World Cup in sight, Kishan will be eager to put up some impressive performances to be in the fray for selection. As KL Rahul is struggling with the bat, if Kishan could continue his scoring form, Virat Kohli and India team management will not be able to keep him out.
As for Mumbai, Kishan will be an important cog. Not only he gives the team flexibility with a wicket-keeping option but also runs in the top-order, helping them add an extra batsman to the squad.
