IPL 2021: The 10th edition of the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) is underway. The Australian professional league is a great scouting ground for the eight Indian Premier League franchises ahead of the IPL auction. With the auctions fast approaching, here are 5 players who can start a bidding-war, courtesy of their BBL performance.
Glenn Maxwell (Melbourne Stars):
Maxi was a big flop in IPL 2020 but that does not change the fact the he is one of the most devasting players in T20 format. His unorthodox batting stance and unpredictability on the pitch makes him a big catch for every team. What adds to his T20 class is his performance against India in the limited-overs series.
Adam Zampa (Melbourne Stars):
There are few bowlers in modern-day cricket who can claim to have dismissed batting superstar Virat Kohli seven times in his international career – apart from Adam Zampa. He is the third highest wicket-taker this year with 17 wickets.
Josh Phillipe (Sydney Sixers):
The 23-year-old is in great form this season. The right-handed batsman has scored 337 runs so far and is the highest scorer in BBL 2021. Courtesy of his good batting performance Sixers are currently no.1 in points table.
Chris Lynn (Brisbane Heats):
Lynn has developed into one of the most devastating six-hitters in the KFC Big Bash League. He was named Player of the Tournament in BBL|05, hammering 378 runs from 218 balls at a strike rate of 173.4. This year also he has been in good form with the bat. He has hit 273 runs and is at seventh spot in most runs list.
Jhye Richardson (Perth Scorchers):
In nine matches he has chipped 18 wickets at an economy 6.35. It means Richardson has double the wickets in matches he has played so far. The 24-year-old is the second highest wicket taker in BBL.
