In what came as the latest blow for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in-form opener Faf du Plessis picked up a groin injury in the ongoing CPL. He suffered an injury while playing against Barbados Royals and was subsequently ruled out of the final group stage match. The extent of du Plessis’ injury remains unknown, and his participation in the CPL 2021 remaining matches and the IPL 2021 Phase 2 remains in doubt. He has so far lost a couple of matches in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League.
