IPL 2021: Big Blow for CSK, Lungi Ngidi & Jason Behrendorff won’t be available for CSK vs PBKS, confirms Stephen Fleming- Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has confirmed that Lungi Ngidi and new recruit Jason Behrendorff will not be available for the next match vs Punjab Kings.
“Ngidi won’t be available. he won’t be arriving for the next game. So losing Josh Hazlewood, which was the plan to have him available for these games is a blow simply as an option upfront. Ngidi will be arriving soon. Behrendorff would be following that. [Bowling] it’s an area that we are probably short on. But we still look at the Indian bowlers and we have international bowler Sam Curran,” Stephen Fleming said in a post-match press conference.
Stephen Fleming also backed the batting department and said that it wasn’t bad to lose 2 wickets early and reach 188. “We were going at about 10 or 9 runs per over and the intent with the bat was pretty good,” he said.
He added that the wicket changed a little in the second game with dew.
Speaking about the bowling department, Fleming said that it was not their day with the bowl. “It’s just that we did not create enough chances with the ball today.”
He added that it will be a high scoring affair and toss will play a very big in Mumbai-leg matches.
Speaking about Raina’s form, Fleming opined, “It’s really good, considering the cricket and from where he has come from. We put Moeen Ali as an aggressor and Suresh Raina upfront. A couple of boundaries and he was away. It was a really positive sign for us.”
