CSK will be the first team this season delving into the preparations after a wicked and dismal run in UAE in late 2020. Dhoni will be present from the very first day of the camp to guide the young guns and will also be looking to hit the camp hard to get the lost touch back. The other CSK star batsman, Ambati Rayudu, will also join the forces from the very first day of the camp and the other Tamil Nadu players will chip in very soon. Date: 11th March, 2021

Venue: M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

This is how the yellow army welcomed its superstars.

The team will have many questions to answer and issues to fix ahead of the season after a languid show at the IPL 2020, as for the first time in IPL history they were placed at the second last position on the table. CSK was direly missing the services of Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina, in 2020 and with the unavailability of their frontline all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo for most of the IPL, they were trying to get out of the muddle and fix the inevitable issues.

And few of such issues were tried to be fixed by the management in the IPL Auctions of 2021. With the purchase of English All-Rounder and the highest paid uncapped player from India, Krishnappa Gowtham, the team looks much more balanced this time around. With Raina back in the squad, the team will look to turn their fortunes around this season.

The key players who can make the headlines for CSK in IPL 2021 are- Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, among others.

CSK’s Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf Du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shardul Thakur/ Josh Hazlewood, Deepak Chahar.
