IPL 2021: CSK rope in former IPL COO Sundar Raman as consultant:Chennai Super Kings have roped in Sundar Raman, former chief operating officer (COO) of the Indian Premier League as a consultant IPL 2021, beginning April 9. Raman will look be involved in CSK’s commercial and marketing strategies.

While an official announcement is yet to be made, sources confirmed the news to PTI. “Yes, Sundar Raman will come in as a consultant and will handle the commercial and marketing strategies of CSK,” sources told the agency. The current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSK, KS Viswanathan, will head cricket operations.

Raman, born in Madurai, is currently a consultant with Reliance Industries that owns Mumbai Indians. Previously, he held the position of CEO-Sports with Reliance Industries.

However, it is his close association with India Cements managing director N Srinivasan, a former BCCI President and ICC chairman, that saw him joining CSK. Raman had worked with Srinivasan when the latter was the BCCI president. But he resigned as the IPL COO following the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal that led to the suspension of CSK and Rajasthan Royals.
