IPL 2021: CSK’s Robin Uthappa excited to play under Stephen Fleming and David Hussey- Ahead of the IPL 2021, CSK’s new recruit Robin Uthappa got candid in a chat with Chennai Super Kings. The batsman said that he is excited to join the squad and play under the guidance of head coach Stephen Fleming and batting coach David Hussey. He was traded to CSK from Rajasthan Royals for Rs 3 crore deal ahead of IPL 2021 auction. Uthappa is set to open the innings with Faf du Plessis as Shane Watson has bid adieu to IPL.

Robin Uthappa’s IPL Record: The right-handed batsman from Karnataka is an IPL veteran, having played 189 games in the league, across all seasons. He has played for multiple teams in the T20 league since 2008. He has faced ups and downs but remains a valued Indian player in the tournament.
The previous two seasons have not been good for him. He scored 282 runs in 2019 for KKR, while 196 in the last season for Rajasthan Royals. But, the Kerala batsman was in fine form during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 277 runs in 6 matches which included 2 centuries.
Uthappa is on the verge of completing 5,000 runs in IPL. He has scored 4,607 runs in 189 IPL matches that feature 24 fifties.
CSK will play their opening match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 10.
