His score of 95 runs (off 83 balls) is the joint-highest score in an ODI by a No.8 batsman. In his innings, Curran smashed 3 sixes and 9 boundaries.
Despite being the last recognized batsman, Sam Curran shared a 57-run partnership with Adil Rashid and 60 runs stand with Mark Wood in his bid to complete an unlikely run chase.
With the ODI series now over, the focus will now shift to the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) that will kick-off in Chennai on April 9. MI will lock horns with RCB in the IPL 2021 opener.
Sam Curran will feature in the opening match for CSK against DC at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 10. He has already joined the IPL franchise in Mumbai along with England team-mate and new CSK recruit Moeen Ali.
In his IPL career till date, Curran has amassed 667 runs and scalped 23 wickets in 23 appearances. Last year, he picked 13 wickets and scored 186 runs. Chennai Super Kings needs him to deliver in their bid to the fourth trophy in IPL 2021.
