Rishabh Pant set to captain Delhi Capitals in UAE

Delhi Capitals is on top of the IPL 2021 points table with six wins in eight matches and all of it came under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. This is the reason, Delhi Capitals do not want to tinker with the captaincy for IPL in UAE. According to a report, DC will have Rishabh Pant as the skipper for the IPL 2021 Phase 2. This comes despite regular captain Shreyas Iyer being available for the remainder of the season having recovered from a shoulder injury.

Last week when InsideSport reached out to Delhi Capitals officials, they were divided over the captaincy issue. But the franchise seems to have found a way. They are determined to keep Rishabh Pant as the captain at least for the remainder of the IPL 2021. The reason behind the decision is that Shreyas Iyer is still making a recovery and hasn’t played any competitive match since March this year having undergone shoulder surgery.
