IPL 2021: R Ashwin’s wife Prithi Narayanan shares her ‘nightmare’ after several members of family tested COVID-19 positive- After an immediate decision by R Ashwin to leave IPL 2021 mid-way to support his family(after just 5 matches after his family tested positive with coronavirus), his wife Prithi Narayanan has shared her nightmare after the family tested positive for COVID-19. She depicted how the virus affected her mental health.

“Feeling ok enough to croak a tiny hi to all of you.6 adults and 4 children ended up testing+ the same week, with our kids being the vehicles of transmission – the core of my family, all down with the virus in different homes/hospitals..Nightmare of a week.1 of 3 parents back home,” she wrote on Twitter.

Ashwin’s wife also urged everyone to take the vaccine as it is the only thing to provide us best to fight against the pandemic.

“Take the vaccine. Give yourselves and your family the best chance to fight this,” she added.

She further added that COVID-19 is the most isolating disease.

“I guess physical health will recover faster than mental health. Days 5-8 were the absolute worst for me. Everybody was there, offering help yet there’s no one with you. Most isolating disease. Please do reach out and seek help,” she stated on the micro-blogging site.

It is notable that Ashwin left IPL after playing the first 5 matches.

I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals,” Ashwin had tweeted.

Besides R Ashwin, Ashwin, four overseas players (Liam Livingstone, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, Andrew Tye) and one umpire so far have pulled out of the ongoing IPL 2021 tournament.
