IPL 2021: Disney+ Hotstar ropes in two more ‘co-presenting' sponsors for IPL 2021

IPL 2021Disney+ Hotstar, Indian Premier League’s official live streaming partner, has roped in 10 more sponsors for the IPL 2021. Star India, which has the official broadcasting and digital rights of IPL, has brought in Vimal Pan Masala and Upstox as co-sponsors, besides announcing Dream 11 as one of the co-presenting sponsors.

Apart from the three, India’s most popular OTT platform has also signed deals with Phone Pe, Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), Unacademy, Swiggy, Pharmeasy, Livspace, and Parle Agro as associate sponsors.

“IPL is a prime sporting property that provides advertisers with an opportunity for real-time consumer engagement on Disney+ Hotstar. Going by the response from the market, IPL 2021 promises to be an even more significant opportunity for brands. All key features such as Super 4s, Super 6s, Fall Of Wickets, Milestones, and Super Savers have sold out within a short period, and we see early closures across categories,” Nitin Bawankule, Star & Disney India President – Ad Sales, said.

“With a host of innovative advertising formats, targeting on connected TVs, and custom branded content solutions, brands have the unique opportunity to reach a highly engaged and affluent audience through the sharp targeting options available on live sports,” he added.

BCCI’s premier T20 tournament will be live-streamed in four Indian languages – Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil — apart from English. People with Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription will be able to enjoy live matches on the platform.

 

On Sunday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah revealed the schedule of the 14th edition of the IPL. The tournament will begin on April 9 and the final will be played on May 30. The opening match will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai.
