5,000 runs in IPL
AB de Villiers (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
RCB batsman and South Africa legend AB de Villiers is one of the most attacking cricketers in the world. He is one of the key players in the RCB batting lineup beside skipper Virat Kohli. The 37-year-old is just 151 runs away to complete the milestone of 5,000 runs in IPL. He is expected to complete the record in the first few matches.
AB de Villiers has smashed 4,849 runs in the competition with an average of 40. It includes 3 centuries and 38 fifties.
Chris Gayle (Punjab Kings)
Self-proclaimed ‘Universe Boss’, Chris Gayle will be aiming to add another feather to his cap. One of the destructive openers in the cricketing world, Gayle has scored 4,772 runs at an average of 41. The stats include 6 centuries and 31 fifties. He needs 228 runs to complete 5,000 runs in IPL. He could have attained the landmark in the previous put top form of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal forced Gayle to sit in 7 out of 14 group stage matches.
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings)
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, who is reportedly playing his last IPL season, would like to win the IPL 2021 trophy. Thala has doubled his preparation ahead of IPL 2021. One of the legends of IPL, Robin Uthappa has played IPL for a number of franchises. He is now a news recruit to the Chennai Super Kings squad. With CSK, Uthappa is expected to bat at the top in absence of Shane Watson (retired). It will be the perfect opportunity for the Kerala batsman to complete 5,000 runs in IPL. He is coming on the back of good amount of runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Uthappa has 4,607 runs in 189 IPL matches at an average of 27 with 24 half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli (5878), Suresh Raina (5368), David Warner (5254), Rohit Sharma (5230) and Shikhar Dhawan (5197) have already completed 5,000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
