Most sixes conceded by a bowler in a single IPL season
- 29 Sixes: DJ Bravo – Chennai Super Kings – 2018
- 28 Sixes: Yuzvendra Chahal – Royal Challengers Bangalore – 2015
- 24 Sixes: Kuldeep Yadav – Kolkata Knight Riders – 2018
- 24 Sixes: Shardul Thakur – Chennai Super Kings – 2018
- 23 Sixes: Hardik Pandya – Mumbai Indians – 2019
- 23 Sixes: Lasith Malinga – Mumbai Indians – 2019
Chennai Super Kings all-rounder DJ Bravo was hit for 29 sixes in a single season in 2018. Interestingly CSK won the trophy that year but Bravo claimed an unwanted record. While second on the list is RCB’s, Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal is one of the best bowlers in T20 cricket but as he plays the most number of IPL matches at Chinnaswamy stadium here the boundary is very short. He often gets hit for many sixes.
Chainaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav had a memorable year in 2018 where he picked 17 wickets in 16 matches that he played for KKR, however, he was hit for 24 sixes in it. CSK’s Shardul Thakur was also hit for the same number of maximums in the same year.
In 2019, when Mumbai India won the trophy beating CSK in the final. Lasith Malinga and Hardik Pandya were hit for 23 sixes each. This was also the last season for Malinga in IPL.
