The decision comes even as New Zealand will tour Pakistan during September-October. The development comes as good news for Sunrisers Hyderabad who named Kane Williamson as their skipper after a dismal run in IPL 2021 Phase 1.

“New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, James Neesham, and Lockie Ferguson will feature in the second phase of the IPL 2021 in the UAE” instead of the Pakistan series said David White as quoted by Geo TV.
“The NZC will release the IPL players,” a franchise official told Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has told the IPL franchises that it will inform them about the foreign players’ availability by August 10. A decision on Australian players for IPL 2021 Phase 2 is yet to be made.

Last month, the BCCI announced the schedule for the remainder of the IPL 2021 which will be held in the UAE. A total of 31 matches will be played in the duration of 27 days.
The 14th season, which was postponed in May this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on September 19 in Dubai with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
