IPL 2021: KKR’s Shakib Al Hasan, RR’s Mustafizur Rahman land in Bangladesh via chartered flight- Kolkata Knight Riders allrounder Shakib Al Hasan and Rajasthan Royals pacer Mustafizur Rahman on Thursday has safely reached for Bangladesh, days after IPL 2021 got suspended.

“Both the players travelled together on Thursday afternoon and we ensured that things were all fine,” a KKR official revealed. Later the franchise took to their official Twitter handle to announce the news of both player’s safe arrival at their home. Check the pictures below.

 

The BCCI was in contact with the Bangladesh High Commission to ensure the travel of both these players back home safely.

The players underwent a COVID-19 test and returned negative before leaving the country.

It is worth mentioning that two players (Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakaravarthy) from KKR had tested positive for COVID-19 while players from RR tested positive for the virus.

“The players underwent RT-PCR tests and once the reports were negative, they were allowed to fly out,” Sportstar quoted BCCI official as saying.

IPL 2021: KKR’s Shakib Al Hasan, RR’s Mustafizur Rahman set to undergo ‘hard’ quarantine, to miss training for BAN vs SL series- After the IPL 2021 suspension, Bangladesh players Shakib Al Hasan (Kolkata Knight Riders) and Mustafizur Rahman (Rajasthan Royals) are set to undergo a quarantine of at least 14 days before they can return to action.

As per a new quarantine rule from May 1, foreign travellers coming from India to Bangladesh will have to go through a 14-day quarantine before resuming work in the country.

The duo are expected to join the ODI team for a three-match series, which is likely to start on May 23. It is notable that the IPL’s league stage also concludes on May 23, with the final on May 30.  The group is scheduled to start training on May 2.
