IPL 2021: KL Rahul hold the record for the highest-ever score by a captain in IPL history

The erstwhile Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul went berserk during IPL 2020 in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), smashing 132 off just 69 balls. In the process, Rahul’s knock turned out to be the highest score by any skipper in IPL.

The highest score by a skipper in IPL history before KL Rahul’s 132 was David Warner’s 126 in the 2017 edition for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The New South Wales’ batsman’s innings came off 59 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders that consisted of ten fours and eight sixes. The record from Warner has now been shifted to the keeper-batsman through his rampant innings.
