IPL 2021: Michael Vaughan’s big prediction, says this player will be heir to MS Dhoni in CSK – Former England captain Michael Vaughan, who is also an intrepid follower of IPL and regularly tweets and comments about it, has said that one cricketer in the current CSK unit has all the requisite qualities for taking over the captaincy of the team from MS Dhoni.

Who is MS Dhoni’s successor as CSK captain? Find out from Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan sees Ravindra Jadeja as the man to take over the baton of leading CSK from MS Dhoni. In an interaction with Cricbuzz, the Ashes-winning captain from 2005 made this daring call.

“You can say that Dhoni would play for 2-3 years more. But tell me honestly, would he play well after that? That’s why you would have to see whom you can build a team around. Ravindra Jadeja is that type of cricketer around whom I would like to build a team. I think he is good with ball, in the field. He has a good mindset with the bat in hand,” Vaughan opined.

This statement of Michael Vaughan comes after MS Dhoni has failed to get going in his three completed innings this season as well. He also had a lean season last year and CSK finished second from the bottom. Though the team seems to have recovered this season, as of now, questions about Dhoni remain.

Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, has been thriving in all departments. His bowling played a key role in CSK’s victory in their last game and in the field, he has already pulled off some brilliant efforts.

With MS Dhoni retired from international cricket, his future in cricket, in general, is in question. Whether he is able to revive his form in the game or not, remains to be seen.
