South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batsman married his wife Sasha Hurly in 2016. The couple is expecting their first child in the upcoming year. The duo is known to have first met during The Champions League Twenty20 match between Highveld Lions (de Kock’s team) and Mumbai Indians back then in 2012, where Sasha was the cheerleader. Things started brewing between the two since then.
IPL 2021: Quinton de Kock’s IPL career
Starting his journey with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2013, he has served his skills in Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils then) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Ahead of the IPL 2019 season, Mumbai Indians (MI) purchased de Kock who then went onto become the highest run-scorer for the MI in the 2019 IPL season. His crucial knocks were instrumentals in helping MI lift the 2019 edition of the IPL.
Even in the 2020 season in UAE, he showcased blazing hot form. The wicketkeeper-batsman for the blue brigade, he scored 503 runs including four half-centuries at the top in IPL 2020. Besides, he also jammed crucial partnerships with Rohit Sharma and together the team collectively clinched their fifth IPL title in 2020.
Even in the disaster-struck Phase 1 of IPL 2021, de Kock has been a significant contributor. In the six matches he featured for Rohit Sharma and co, he has amassed 155 runs.
