IPL 2021: Mustafizur Rahman’s great form good news for Rajasthan Royals, can he lead RR’s pace attack in Archer and Ben Stokes’ absence?: Good news has surfaced for Rajasthan Royals days ahead of the resumption of the second leg of IPL 2021 in the UAE. Bangladesh based RR quick- Mustafizur Rahman has gained his hot form before phase 2 of the tournament. The left-arm pacer is breathing fire in Bangladesh’s ongoing T20I series against Australia.

Mustafizur’s bowling momentum from IPL 2021 Phase 1 further accelerated on their overseas tour to Zimbabwe, where while playing just one T20I he scalped 3 wickets and returned with an economy of 7.75.

His hot coal form is further fuelled in their ongoing five-match T20I series against the Kangaroos in their home country. In just three matches, he has claimed 5 wickets and returned with an exceptional economy of just 4.

His match-winning performances with the ball can fairly up Royals in the points table during the UAE based second leg of the tournament.

IPL 2021: Why is Mustafizur’s hot form a cherry on the cake in the UAE?

No doubt good form for any player is a boon for the franchisee/team he is playing for. But things will all likely unfurl lucky for Mustafizur in terms of playing conditions.

The 25-year old will have an extra edge in terms of acclimatization to the conditions as the surfaces at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka and in UAE are almost similar. The slow, sluggish wickets in the Gulf country will aid his natural bowling in the second leg of IPL.

Unlike his entry into the IPL Phase 1 where Mustafizur was coming after a poor bowling performance in New Zealand overseas, he is in sublime form ahead of the resumption of the second leg of the cash-rich league in the UAE.

Moreso, in the absence of key England players- Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer who are out due to mental health and injury issues respectively, the responsibility of the rest of the pace battery falls heavily. In such a case, Mustafizur alongside the likes of Chris Morris, Chetan Sakariya, Jaydev Unadkat, and Kartik Tyagi will have to shoulder major responsibilities.
