IPL 2021: Parthiv Patel joins Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi as Talent Scout: Former Mumbai Indians player- Parthiv Patel has joined the team as Talent Scout in Abu Dhabi, UAE for the second leg of IPL 2021. The former left-handed player will render his services to the team as a talent scout alongside the other coaching staff. It is his first season where Parthiv would extend such service to the blue brigade. The news for the same came in when MI put a post captioning, “Did it as a player. Parthiv was part of MI when the franchise won the IPL title in 2015 and 2017. The 35-year-old was signed as the talent scout for the franchisee in December last year. He will now work closely with the Mumbai Indians coaching staff and scouts’ group.
Parthiv will have massive responsibilities to search for talented performers who can be promoted in the franchisee. The senior player can be a boon for youngsters such as Arjun Tendulkar.
Mumbai Indians are the pioneers amongst the IPL franchises for its robust and intensive scouting program. Over the past few years, the team has produced some special talent- Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rahul Chahar. Besides, the franchise has been able to explore untapped territories, tournaments to identify and scout raw talents, which shape the Indian cricket landscape.
IPL 2021 Phase 2: Mumbai Indians in the UAE
The defending champions have begun their practice at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi for the second phase. As the team would hit the grounds on Monday, they will have their fourth practice session in the Gulf country. ‘
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians will kick off their IPL 2021 phase 2 campaign against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in Dubai. They have blown hot and cold in the first leg of the tournament and are ranked fourth in the league standings with four wins and three defeats in seven outings.
