IPL 2021 Phase 2: BCCI to book chartered flight for players playing in Caribbean Premier League for ‘Bubble to Bubble transfer for IPL in UAE’ – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be booking chartered flights for players playing in the Caribbean Premier League to ensure smooth Bubble to Bubble transfer for IPL in UAE. CPL 2021 will kick start on August 25 and the final will be played on September 15. IPL 2021 phase 2 is scheduled to start on September 19 in UAE.

BCCI this week confirmed that it will allow the bubble to bubble transfer for IPL 2021 phase 2 in UAE. BCCI issued a 46-page health advisory for IPL 2021 on Friday. Players, support staff, commentators and broadcast crew travelling directly from the bio-secure bubbles created for the England vs India series, Sri Lanka vs South Africa series and the Caribbean Premier League can move directly from one bubble to another.
“Players and team support staff coming directly from the Bubble created for England vs. India series, Sri Lanka vs. South Africa series and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) may be permitted to join the franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the below-mentioned criteria. Commentators and broadcast crew who are working on the above three series’ can also avail Bubble to Bubble transfers provided they satisfy the criteria,” BCCI wrote in advisory according to Cricbuzz.

They need not serve the mandatory quarantine period in the UAE provided they satisfy the following criteria.

How will the bubble to bubble transfer work?
- Players will have to stay in the bubble after completion of their respective series
- Players will be transported in the team bus straight to the airports
- Players will be exempted from immigration and other formalities.
- Players will take chartered aircraft booked exclusively for them to travel to Dubai.
- Upon arrival at the Dubai airport, the team buses pick players up from the tarmac and drop them at the team hotels, thereby preventing contact with people outside the bubble.
- Players will have to undergo 1 RT-PCR Test
- Players tested negative will be allowed to join respective teams
BCCI has declared that none of the international players competing in the IPL will have to serve quarantine but the franchise members and families could face punishment if there is a “bubble breach”, according to the health and safety protocols released by the board.
“Breach of any Bio-Secure Environment protocols by franchise members or their families will be subject to disciplinary action by the BCCI,” the governing body said in its Health and Safety protocols, a copy of which is in possession of PTI.
As many as 14 bubbles will be created by BCCI for the smooth conduct of IPL 2021 phase 2.

BCCI is trying every possible thing to avoid any bio-bubble breach this team as IPL 2021 was suspended in the month of May as many players were tested positive due to bubble breach.
Earlier, BCCI requested Windies Cricket to prepone CPL as it was clashing with IPL 2021 phase 2. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had a telephonic conversation with the officials of CWI and CPL COO Pete Russell. CWI President Ricky Skerritt declared that they are committed to doing their best to avoid a possible overlap between CPL and IPL. Now the CPL 2021 will kick start on August 26.
