IPL 2021 Phase 2: MS Dhoni’s CSK to leave for Dubai on August 13th, Punjab Kings on August 29th – With the dates of the IPL 2021 Phase 2 out, the franchises have set the ball rolling to set up camps in the UAE ahead of the September 19 start. But the first of them to leave for the UAE will be MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings on August 13 while Punjab Kings will set up camp in the desert country on August 29, both franchises confirmed to InsideSport.  

“The date of the departure has not been finalised yet but we are planning to send the team by 13th or 14th of August. CSK will be flying to Dubai and will start our training from there,” CEO Kasi Vishwanathan told InsideSport.co exclusively

Indian Premier League’s one of the most successful teams, Chennai Super Kings lead by MS Dhoni, have had a great start to the IPL 2021 after a disappointing IPL 2020. Placed 2nd on the points table with five wins from 7 matches, MS Dhoni & Co will look to capitalise on that start.

CSK will be one of the franchises which will have most of the players available to begin a camp with. Apart from skipper MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad & Suresh Raina amongst others will be available. However, for foreign contingent, especially English players like Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, CSK will have them only after the Test series against India.  

IPL 2021 Phase 2: When asked if the entire squad will be on the plane to Dubai on the 13th of August he said, We are yet to talk with players. But all the available players will fly to Dubai together.”

IPL 2021 Phase 2: Punjab Kings to leave on August 29

Punjab Kings are the other franchise who have delayed their plans to set up camp in the UAE. PBKS CEO Satish Menon told InsideSport that the team will leave for the UAE on August 29.

Although Punjab Kings and other franchises wanted to leave a little earlier like CSK, but with a majority of the players playing for their international teams, they will begin camp in the UAE at the end of this month. 

IPL 2021 Phase 2: Sunrisers Hyderabad are also in the process of finalising their plans and will begin camp in UAE in the next two weeks as per InsideSport sources.

Earlier, CSK & Delhi Capitals requested BCCI if they can reach UAE 1 month early to prepare & continue their dominance of the 14th edition of the league.
