IPL 2021 Phase 2: Ziva Dhoni celebrates Onam in Dubai, eats South-Indian food – Check Out – Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni’s daughter Ziva Dhoni is celebrating Onam festival in Dubai. Dhoni along with his family is in Dubai for IPL 2021 phase 2. CSK is among the first teams to have reached Dubai and start training ahead of the second phase of the cash-rich league.

Ziva shared a story on her Instagram account where she can be seen enjoying South Indian food on Banana leaf. Onam falls in the month of Chingam, the first month of the Malayali calendar, and is celebrated during August-September as per the Gregorian calendar. It is celebrated to honour the demon King Mahabali, who is believed to return to Kerala during this festival.

Earlier on Friday, CSK players completed their quarantine and started practice. The players were seen warming up themselves under the coaches supervision to achieve optimum fitness by the time league matches commence. The players were seen playing football on Day 2 to ensure the team gets enough time to rest and recharge. In a clip shared by CSK, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina can be seen playing football along with Robin Uthappa. In another snap, Deepak Chahar joined in posing for the camera in a huddle with skipper Dhoni and Chinna Thala Raina.

The 14th season, which was postponed in May this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on September 19 in Dubai with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

The action will then shift to Abu Dhabi where Kolkata Knight Riders will square off against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sharjah will host its first game on September 24 when Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Chennai Super Kings. In all, 13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi. CSK will kick off its IPL 2021 phase 2 against Mumbai Indians in Dubai and would be looking to continue its dominance.
