IPL 2021: Players from SL vs SA series arrive in UAE today – Players from SL vs SA series have joined their respective franchises today. The likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Sri Lankan recruits Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera besides Rajasthan Royals’ David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi have arrived in Dubai. All the players from SL vs SA series will be in quarantine for two days before joining their respective squad ahead of IPL 2021 that begins on September 19 with the match between MI vs CSK.

Both Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera will be in quarantine for two days before joining RCB’s bio-bubble. All the players were flown in from Colombo in a charter flight by the franchise, pooling together to get other players in the SL vs SA series.

IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals’ fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje from South Africa and Ben Dwarshuis from Australia arrived at the team hotel in Dubai on Wednesday ahead of the resumption of the IPL 2021.

All players were tested for COVID-19 upon arrival. Dwarshuis will be in quarantine for 6 days while the South African players have entered the Delhi Capitals bio-bubble directly from the bio-bubble set up for the recently-concluded ODI and T20I series in Sri Lanka. On Monday, DC informed that the side has signed Australian fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis as Chris Woakes’ replacement for the IPL. Delhi Capitals confirmed that English all-rounder Woakes pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

IPL 2021: With a lack of clarity regarding the quarantine process for players in Sri Lanka vs South Africa series, franchises were confused about whether the players will be available for the 1st match. However, with BCCI managing to negotiate just two-day quarantine for the players, the players will be available from the first game.

“The players coming in from the bubbles in CPL and from the SA-SL series will undergo two days of isolation. They will come in and go into their rooms on the first day, they will then get tested the next day and once the results come in, they will join the squad members in the bubble,” a source told ANI.

IPL 2021: Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha both will be available for the first match. Furthermore, Hasaranga is expected to play a crucial role in RCB’s journey to playoffs. However, both the Sri Lankan players remain unavailable for the playoffs as they will have to join Sri Lanka’s T20 World Cup squad for the warm-up matches against Oman by October 6. That will rule them out of the IPL 2021 playoffs.
