The Caribbean players were playing in CPL 2021. St Kitts and Nevis Patriot won the CPL 2021 beating Saint Lucia Kings in the final by three wickets. Gayle and Allen were part of St Kitts and Nevis Patriot squad while Pooran was leading Guyana Amazon Warriors.
