IPL 2021 – Glenn Phillips Archer: Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals have signed New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips for the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. Phillips has been named as a replacement to Jofra Archer who is unavailable for the remaining matches of the tournament because of his elbow injury. England pacer Archer had also missed the first leg of the tournament owing to similar injury concerns.

RR’s announcement for the inclusion of Phillips came on IPL T20 official website where they officially announced the replacements for the franchises. This will be Phillips’s maiden stint with IPL if he happens to get a chance for RR in the remaining matches.

Rajasthan Royals sign Glenn Phillips as Jofra Archer’s replacement

IPL 2021 – Glenn Phillips Archer: The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman has played 25 T20Is for New Zealand and returned with an average and strike rate of 28.06 and 149.41 respectively. In 2021, he has played eight matches where he scored 182 runs with a strike rate of 178.43.

Earlier, RR had announced the inclusion of the world’s No.1 T20I bowler- Tabraiz Shamsi to their side for the second leg of IPL 2021 in the UAE. The South African player replaced Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye for the remainder of IPL 2021.

Rajasthan Royals: Rajasthan Royals started the season on a high- securing two wins out of the first three games. However, as they journeyed further their performance dipped. Currently, they sit at fifth position on the points table.
