IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals will be most affected if England players miss IPL Phase 2- The England international players who have contracts with ECB are likely to miss Phase 2 of IPL 2021, which is speculated to take place in September. As per the England Cricket Board, the players of all the IPL franchise will have to give preference to national duty. Ashley Giles, ECB Director of Cricket of Men’s Cricket, said that England players will not miss international matches to play the remainder of the IPL 2021 season. “None of us knows what a rearranged IPL looks like at the moment; where it’s going to be or when. But from when we start this summer against New Zealand, our programme is incredibly busy,” he said.
In such a scenario, as many as 12 players from England will the Phase 2. Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be the worst-affected team in such a scenario. They will miss the services of Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone.

The England wicket-keeper batsman was the standout player among overseas players for RR. He also smashed a ton in his last game before the IPL 2021 suspension. The right-handed batsman is a vital cog in the RR lineup. He even featured in top 10 in Orange Cap table with 254 runs in 7 matches at an average of 36.28
Jofra Archer is likely to be fully fit to play for the remainder of IPL 2021. But, he too could miss the remaining fixtures. The absence of Archer has already affected RR in Phase 2 as they leaked runs in death overs in IPL 2021 Phase 1.
The England allrounder had missed the IPL 2021 Phase 1 after featuring in just one match due to an injury. His absence could continue to hurt as Manan Vohra and Yashashvi Jaiswal failed to provide top starts for Rajasthan Royals in phase 1.
The England international had pulled out of the IPL 2021 after bio-bubble fatigue. He is unlikely to play for RR even if ECB allow players to take part.
RR also needs to buy some players to fill the 8 players slot of overseas players in absence of foreign players from England.
