IPL 2021: Ravi Shastri makes bold prediction on IPL 2021 winner, says, ‘seeds being sowed’- Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday defeated Delhi Capitals in a thrilling match by 1-run. The recent victory stretched their wins to 5 in last 6 matches. They began their campaign by defeating Mumbai Indians and are currently ranked 1st on the IPL points table. It is notable that RCB is yet to win an IPL trophy. They roped in Glenn Maxwell to strengthen their middle order and New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson to strengthen their bowling department.
The impressive performance from RCB forced India head coach Ravi Shastri to share an appreciation tweet for RCB. “Brilliant game last night. Seeds being sowed for a potentially new winner to emerge,” tweeted Shastri along with a picture of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant.

Meanwhile, he left the Twitterati confused after the picture. This is because Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals have been also doing well in IPL 2021. They are the runners up and have won 4 out of 6 matches under the leadership of Rishabh Pant. The latters have also defeated CSK who have been doing very well in the ongoing IPL 2021 season.
With defending champions Mumbai Indians and Eoin Morgan’s KKR failing to find consistency in IPL 2021, Shastri’s prediction might come true if RCB and DC continue to play top-class cricket.
In the match, AB De Villiers scored a blistering fifty to guide RCB to 171/5 in stipulated 20 overs after sent in to bat by skipper Pant.
In reply, Pant and Shimron Hetmyer’s fifties took the game close but failed to hit a six which was required of the final delivery.
