“I was thinking if the batters can’t pick my slower balls then the bowlers also will find it difficult to spot (referring to his Chahar’s wicket that got him the hat-trick). I just bet on that. This is my sixth time being on a hat-trick and finally got one, so pretty happy,” Harshal Patel said post-match.
“He (Pollard) is somebody who can do damage if you bowl in his areas, we wanted to take him wide and then once you drag him wide you have the option to bluff him, that came off really well. The way Siraj started, he’s someone who sets the tempo for us and the way Maxi and Chahal bowled in the middle overs were absolutely brilliant. They were under pressure at the death and we executed really well,” he added.

The RCB pacer also extended the lead in the Purple Cap list. He has gone past 20 wickets in the tournament. He has extended his lead against second-placed Avesh Khan of DC and new entrant to top 3 Jasprit Bumrah by a fair margin.

“It will take some time to sink in (on hat-trick’s feeling). For me, personally, I feel so good. I am able to execute my skills pretty well. I have the skills to bowl wide and at the heel as well,” Harshal Patel said at post-match conference.
MI bowling coach Zaheer Khan also shed light on Harshal Patel’s slower deliveries that got the wickets of Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya.
“He bowled really well, his slower ones has become a trend for this IPL,” he said.
