IPL 2021: RCB stars undergo intense training during quarantine in Bengaluru, before heading to UAE for Phase 2 – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be heading to the UAE as they prepare for the upcoming IPL 2021 Phase next month. While the Virat Kohli team will land in the Gulf nation on Sunday, the team have already put in the hard yards as they aim to end their title drought this time around. The players have arrived in Bengaluru had have been under a six-day quarantine, while working on their game and fitness to prepare for the rigours of the season.
In a video shared by RCB on the social media handles, the franchise detailed how the players went through their fitness drills while quarantining in Bengaluru. RCB’s strength and conditioning coach Shankar Basu hailed the effort of all the players and said that the way players look after their fitness and the importance of it has evolved over the years. Basu stated that Virat Kohli set the example and others have duly followed, and he has to rather stop them doing training than make them do drills.

With a host of their stars out on international duty, the video featured a host of their domestic stars featured in video including purple cap leader Harshal Patel, and batsmen Devdutt Padikkal, Sachin baby and Rajat Patidar. While RCB have scoured the market and have been busy recruiting foreign names for IPL 2021 Phase 2, the onus will be on the Indian stars to provide the balancing act during the tournament in UAE.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a good start to IPL 2021 and covered most bases winning five of their seven games before the tournament was suspended. Virat Kohli and Co. will hope that despite the change in venue, the franchise can perform to the best of their ability and perhaps end their long wait for the IPL trophy.
