Another such video was posted by the IPL franchise on Saturday focused on the journey of Mohammad Siraj. In the video, Siraj opened up about his association with RCB since joining the squad three years ago.
“I came to play for RCB. I was really happy. I performed well. RCB management backed me. Chinnaswamy is a small ground and it is challenging for the bowlers to bowl well. We should not have an excuse as bowlers job is to prove themselves,” he said.
The video also revealed that RCB pace spearhead played in his early childhood and teenage years with a tennis ball. “It was on his uncle’s advice that he switched to a leather ball in 2014 and within a year he started to wreak havoc.”

He shined with the ball in domestic tournaments like CK Naidu Trophy. His first big break came in 2017 when Sunrisers Hyderabad picked him for Rs 2.6 crore. His base price was Rs 20 lakh. A year later RCB bought him for the same price tag. Since then, Siraj has so far represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in three IPL seasons.
He got his national call after IPL 2020 and emerged as the third-highest wicket-taker for India in their tour of Australia in Test cricket. From the days of struggle to the pinnacle of glory. Despite all that he has achieved he remains a humble man who sometimes celebrates his teammate’s hundreds just like his own.
Siraj recently lost his father ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He achieved his father’s dream of winning matches for India. India emerged triumphant in Australia for successive Test series on their soil. He also walked tall against racial chants in Australia and ensured the culprits are not left behind.
The 27-year-old is a key part of the RCB lineup in their bid to IPL 2021 title. He has scalped 39 wickets in 35 IPL appearances.
