IPL 2021: With the Indian Premier League suspended, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper Virat Kohli has returned home and is now looking forward to helping India fight the second wave of Covid-19. Famous celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani shared the picture on his Instagram account. Kohli could be seen in all-black attire. He captioned the post: “Virat Kohli is back home after ipl was postponed. Good news is that he would be able to concentrate more on the covid support “movement” which #anushkasharma announced”.
Anushka Sharma had earlier announced that she will be starting a movement soon for helping the country overcome the pandemic. “Virat and I are coming together to do our bit, we will share details soon so that you can also become a part of this movement. Stay safe and take care,” she said in a video she posted on Instagram on Sunday

IPL 2021: Why was IPL cancelled?
The IPL 2021 was cancelled after several cases were reported within the bio-bubble. The first case was reported from KKR where Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive. Later on the same day (May 3) two others: CSK bowling coach Lakshmipati Balaji and CEO Kasi Viswanathan were among the affected.
Later SRH’s Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals Amit Mishra were tested positive as well. Soon BCCI called for an emergency meeting with the IPL Governing Council where Secy Jay Shah wanted to suspend the IPL indefinitely to reduce the possible damage to the health of the players.
IPL 2021: BCCI is planning for September window to resume season
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to conduct the remaining matches of IPL 2021 in September. So far only 29 matches have been played with 31 yet to see some action.
