The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect on Tuesday. The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind. The BCCI has admitted that it will do everything in its powers to arrange for the secure and safe passage of all the participants in IPL 2021.
Chahal in IPL 2021
Meanwhile, Chahal was going through a lean patch in IPL 2021 as the leggy could just manage to take four wickets in seven games. His economy was also on the higher side (8.26) this year. His strike rate was 34.50 and his average was 47.50. Comparing his stats in IPL 2021 to last year where he picked 21 wickets, this year was certainly a tough one for him.
