IPL 2021: South African bowling legend Dale Steyn opts out of Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore

IPL 2021: RCB’s Dale Steyn opts out of IPL 2021: Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore will no more have the services of pacer Dale Steyn. Steyn played in IPL 2020 for RCB but has opted out of IPL 2021 as he ‘ is taking some time off during that period’.

The 37-year-old made the announcement on Twitter and said, “Just a short message to let everyone know that I’ve made myself unavailable for RCB at this years IPL, I’m also not planning on playing for another team, just taking some time off during that period. Thank you to RCB for understanding. No I’m not retired.”

However, the South African pacer confirmed that he will be playing in other leagues though.

“I will be playing in other leagues, nicely spaced out to give myself an opportunity to do something’s I’ve been excited about as well as continue to play the game I love so much. NO, I’m NOT retired. Here’s to a great 2021,” Steyn tweeted.

Notably, Steyn played on three games for RCB in IPL 2020, and bagged one wicket while conceding runs at an economy of 11.40.
