IPL 2021: Suresh Raina goes bat hunting, gets ready for CSK return – Suresh Raina is ramping up his preparations for the upcoming IPL 2021 with the Chennai Super Kings star going shopping to select the best gear for him. Raina returned to the CSK set up having opted of the IPL last year and showed glimpses of his former self before the pandemic ensured that the tournament was postponed. Now with the action set to shift to the UAE, the 34-year-old is leaving no stone unturned in his preparations for the event.

Suresh Raina has given his fans an insight into his preparations for the IPL 2021 via his social media. The CSK superstar shared a reel on Instagram, where he provided an insight into his process of selecting his perfect gear. In the video, Raina could be seen wearing a yellow mask and shadow batting before deciding to elect the bat of his choice. Raina wrote, “Getting all set to be back on the field. Thank you @sgcricketofficial @parasjuny for always guiding me to select the best gear!” A host of former cricketers reacted on the reel including former CSK teammate Subramaniam Badrinath and 2011 World Cup teammate Munaf Patel.

Suresh Raina will be one of the key components of the CSK side when they resume their IPL 2021 campaign in September. With the three-time champions set to miss out on Moeen Ali and Sam Curran’s services due to England’s series against Bangladesh, Raina could return to his favoured No.3 slot, having played two down so far this season. The 34-year-old scored 123 runs in six innings for Chennai Super Kings in Phase 1, including a stunning 54 against Delhi Capitals in his comeback game.
