IPL 2021 Phase 2: RCB appoint Prathmesh Mishra as new chairman: Ahead of the resumption of the second leg of India Premier League (IPL) 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during September-October, administration-related news came up from Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) team camp on Wednesday. Prathmesh Mishra has taken over the role of RCB Chairman from Anand Kripalu.

Prathmesh Mishra, who is currently Chief Commercial Officer of Diageo India has extended his hands of service to Virat Kohli-led RCB as chairman. Mishra has taken the responsibilities from the preceding chairman Anand Kripalu, whose tenure as Managing Director & CEO of Diageo India ended on June 30, 2021.

On being adjudged with this role, Prathmesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Officer, Diageo India said, “Royal Challengers Bangalore is an integral part of Diageo India, and all of us share a profound passion for the team. I am excited about adding my shoulder to Virat Kohli, Mike Hesson and Simon Katich and playing bold in everything we do, on and off, the field. I would also like to thank Anand for his tremendous contribution to RCB.

The industry veteran with two decades of experience, Prathmesh joined Diageo India in 2014 as the Chief Operations Officer responsible for the Western region.

IPL 2021 Phase 2: RCB performance in Phase 1

The red brigade was in blazing form during the first half of IPL 2021 season. Having won five matches of the total seven RCB played, they rested on number 3 position on the points table with 10 points.
